The AIA|DC Emerging Architects Committee (EAC) promotes education, leadership development, and community involvement among emerging architects, architecture graduates, Associate AIA members, and architects licensed 10 years or less. We encourage the next generation of architects to start leading our community by heading committees, organizing events, participating in workshops, and attending our events.
The EAC has four major objectives: ADVOCATE for emerging professionals, PROVOKE and talk about the future of the profession, MENTOR the next generation of architects, and perform OUTREACH to other AIA members, associated disciplines, and the community.
2025 Goals & Objectives
- To build off the existing monthly committee agenda to include open discussions about ideas, trends, and important topics in the industry.
- Focus on our committee objectives: ADVOCATE, MENTOR, PROVOKE, and OUTREACH
- Encourage community building and collaboration within the committee and emerging professionals in our region.
- Provide in-person networking and mentoring opportunities for emerging professionals.
Monthly Meetings are open to the public. These meetings occur in person at different architectural firms on the second Wednesday of every month.
