The Asian American Designers Union (AADU) is a platform for empowering Asian American professionals working in the built environment disciplines to grow personally and collectively. Our goal is to motivate professional development, foster leadership skills, and promote collaboration within and beyond the Washington, DC area.
2025 Mission Statement
In 2025, AADU remains dedicated to its mission of advocating for the growth of Asian American designers in the Washington D.C. area and beyond, fostering individual professional development, and providing networking opportunities that enhance the dissemination and integration of Asian cultures within the design community. This year, we aim to innovate our program formats and devise engaging methods for our inperson events. At the same time, we will continue to capitalize on the benefits of high-quality online activities, which provide a platform to connect with global professionals and access diverse insights. Our events will persistently address social justice, the future of the design industry, and the enhancement of cross-disciplinary communication. Through ongoing dialogues about the role of designers, we strive to use design tools to transform our communities, elevate our voices, and drive significant change.
