Submission Guidelines
Architects may submit projects for possible publication in ArchitectureDC at any time, but should be aware of the upcoming themes listed in the current editorial calendar. Except for the awards issue, only projects located in the Washington metropolitan area will be eligible for consideration. Priority will be given to projects that have been completed within the past two years, and which have not yet been widely published in local magazines or newspapers.
TO SUBMIT: E-mail a single PDF to Martin Moeller, editor, ArchitectureDC, at g.martin.moeller.jr@gmail.com. The PDF must include the following:
• A brief written description of the project.
• Date of substantial completion.
• Floor plans.
• Photographs adequate to convey the full design solution (if the project is a renovation or restoration, you MUST include “before” photos as appropriate).
• Site plans and other contextual information if relevant.
• A list of any other magazines or newspapers in which the project has been published or is expected to be published in the next four months.
There is no limit on the number of pages in the PDF, but do NOT send more than one PDF—any additional files or documents will be ignored.
The review process is typically quite competitive, but your project can’t be considered if you don’t submit!
The submission must be made by the architecture firm primarily responsible for the project. If more than one architecture firm was involved, the submitting firm must inform all other architecture firms involved of the intention to submit the project for consideration.
