The 2015 Chapter Design Awards were originally exhibited in The Awards Show, the first annual exhibition combining award-winning projects from three of its most celebrated competitions: Unbuilt Awards, Washingtonian Residential Awards, and Chapter Design Awards.

The annual AIA|DC Chapter Design Awards competition invites submissions in four distinct project categories: Architecture, Interior Architecture, Historic Resources, and Urban Design and Master Planning. 2015 Chapter President Steve White, AIA also awarded Presidential Citations for projects in the following categories: Sustainable Design, Urban Catalyst, Universal Design, and Design and Wellbeing.

This year a “People’s Choice Award” social media campaign collected votes for one favored project. The winning project Healy Family Student Center at Georgetown University by ikon.5 architects. Congratulations!

Of the 200-plus submissions this year, 24 projects were chosen by a panel of distinguished jurors, including:
