Gregory Wiedemann, AIA, Principal of Wiedemann Architects LLC, received a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in Mathematics and Urban Planning from Tufts University, a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, magna cum laude, from Tufts University College of Engineering, and a Master of Architecture from Harvard University. He was the recipient of the AIA Medal, an award given to the top-ranked architecture student at Harvard, a Frederick Sheldon Traveling Fellowship, and an Architectural Award from the National Society of Arts & Letters. He was Graham Foundation Scholar at Harvard in 1976 and is a member of Tau Beta Pi, the national honorary engineering fraternity. In 2021, he received the high honor of being elevated to The College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects. 

He has been a member of the design and technology faculties of the School of Architecture at the University of Maryland, and a member of the faculty of Johns Hopkins University, where he taught a design course in the real estate development program. His academic work has been recognized by numerous regional and national awards, including an award for an ACSA International Design Competition and a national AIA Education Honor Award for excellence in design education at the University of Maryland.

Mr. Wiedemann is NCARB certified and has professional architectural registration in Maryland, District of Columbia, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware, New York, and North Carolina.

I cannot recommend highly enough the firm of Wiedemann Architects for the creativity, skill, ability to bring a project to fruition, ease of working together, and general professionalism of its principal, Greg Wiedemann, and project architect, Barbara Sweeney. What impressed me enormously was the ability of the architects to take an idea, a feeling really, and convert the idea and the feelings to something material, and just exactly what I wanted. The flexible way in which this firm works is also remarkable.I participated in the project by Skype while I was in France and the project was in West Virginia, with only short visits by me to the site. The architects worked well with the contractor and with all the professions necessary to get the house built. A challenging site provided lots of surprises but determination and a real desire to create something unique served to make the house/atelier beautiful, functional, and a joy to live and work in.
